Cleaning: How to remove paint on wood floor

If still wet, clean with water for latex or mineral spirits for oil-base.
If paint is dry, soak it in boiled linseed oil, let soften, then lift with putty knife.
Remove residue by rubbing along grain with a paste of boiled linseed oil and rottenstone.
Wipe dry and polish.
